Awards for early-career women scientists in the developing world
Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, IT
- These recognise early-career women scientists from Africa, the Middle
East, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. One winner from each of the
five regions will receive a prize of USD 5,000, as well as full expenses
to attend the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual

Pilot and feasibility grant
Alpha-1 Foundation, US
- This encourages the development and testing of new hypotheses and new
methods in research areas relevant to alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

Research and knowledge exchange fund (RAKE)
Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, GB
- These encourage and support research activities from academics, third

to facilitate knowledge exchange and transfer. Four grants worth up to
£5,000 each will be awarded.

Innovation achiever’s award

- This recognizes innovation that has improved current expectations of
best practice in the built environment. Two awards are offered, the

Arnold Bentley new initiatives fund

- This supports new, interdisciplinary initiatives concerned with the
advancement or promotion of research in the psychology of music or music

Innovational research incentives scheme Vidi awards
Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research – Nederlandse
Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek, NL
- These allow researchers who have already spent several years doing
postdoctoral research to develop their own innovative lines of research,
and to appoint one or more researchers. Grants are worth up to €800,000
- Maximum award: €800,000

Postdoctoral fellowships in law
Ragnar Söderbergs stiftelse – Ragnar Söderberg Foundation, SE
- This supports junior researchers with a PhD that have innovative ideas,
proven scientific excellence and high ambitions to develop their research.
Grants can be awarded for a maximum period of four years and may cover a
maximum of 50 per cent of the salary costs for applicants having an
permanent employment.
